Sunday
My Dad and step Mum came for the day as they are en routfor a week in Dorest on holiday to celebrate my Dad’s 60th birthday on the 30th. After lunch we bravely headed to the park but it was ruddy freezing – like bitterly cold, what on earth are we doing out in this kind of cold! Still, we did let the boys have a quick go on the swing before we all headed back to the car and back home for a warming hot drink!

Monday
Playgroup this morning where the children were allowed to make suns although Jenson insisted his was a Raa Raa lion!

Tuesday
Tuesdays are book bag day for Burton which means he has to take in his homework and the books he borrowed all week to be issued with more homework and he is allowed to choose more books to bring home. I always find that Tuesday night is the easiest one to get him to do his homework so I try to get him to do it all in the one night! Tonight all his words were starting with or featured the letter ‘V’. (We still have 5 books to read though!)

Wednesday
We had a playdate this morning at a friends house although we ended up coming home early as the friend in question was not having a good day shall we say! We wanted to go to the park this afternoon but oh surprise surprise it rained, again! Here we are sat waiting outside school for hometime.

Thursday
We got a brief dry spell this morning so we headed to the park for some puddle splashing! It soon rained again and it was very cold so our visit was very brief!

Friday
Playgroup once more this morning and then it was home for a quick lunch, take my car to the garage for its MOT (it failed booo!) and then we took Jenson to visit a little pre school just along from our house. It is very small with only an admission of 18 children and so I have booked him in for 8 hours a week after Easter – eeeeek! When Burton came home from school both boys decorated a hat each for a party they are attending tomorrow for Burton’s best friend Alfie. The theme is ‘Alfie in Wonderland’ so a Mad Hatters Tea Party will be had and I spent this evening making his birthday cake for it.

Saturday
Swimming for the boys this morning while I finished decorating the cupcakes to go with Alfie’s birthday cake. Poor Burton, we arrived at the party and he looked wishy washy (like in the photo) but I put it down to him swimming this morning and being tired from school, but as soon as he sat at the table for the party food he threw up! So much came out and I felt awful for the mess. While I cleaned him up some of the Mums very kindly and quickly I might add, cleared it all up for me which saved me doing it! Once he had been sick he looked and felt much better even if he then only wore his pants, socks and tee shirt until the end!

  1. Wow Jenny sounds like you’ve had a super busy week! Loving the outdoors photos especially, there’s nothing better than muddy puddles, Poppy absolutely loves them! Burton is just adorable looking all studious doing his homework. I just shuddered at the thought of POD going to school even though its a year away! Jenson will love his time in nursery 🙂

  2. Hard at work on his spellings – I really struggle to get H to do his homework. I have to go for the little bit every night approach because he makes a fuss otherwise. Love the mad hatter hats. Hope Burton is ok now.

  3. Aww poor Burton but glad the mums helped really quickly and I’m sure the cupcakes and cake you made more than made up for it all too. Alfie in wonderland sounds a brilliant theme 🙂 it looks a really busy weeks. Z starts preschool end of this month..,.eeeek!

  4. Oh no no children at home! And Alfie I wondered if I’d missed a birthday.
My car also failed it’s MOT this week but fine on retest. Hope yours has an MOT now too.

  5. their wee noses are red with the cold on Sundays picture. Oh dear at spewing up all over the party, glad I was not there, I dont do “poo and spew” (though I do work in a hospital). One joy of the rain….puddles to splash in, though I am sure if we had no rain for 4 or 5 days there would still be puddles.

  6. Oh bless him, I hope that Burton is feeling better now? He does look very peaky in that bottom picture, poor boy. Does he have a black eye in the top photograph? I do love those swings, always wanted to have a go on one. He is concentrating so hard on his spellings, good work Burton!

Thanks for linking up to Project 365.

  7. How exciting Jenson in pre-school after Easter. Some time for yourself!!
Poor Burton what a shame he was poorly, but how lovely that others rallied around and cleared up. 🙂
I love those hats, I’ve never seen some that size / shape before.

  8. Lovely photos from the week, I love the hats they’ve made. Feathers are banned in this house as they seem to go everywhere.

    Hope he’s feeling better now

  9. Love the swing pic!

Sorry to hear the car failed its MOT! hope it’s sorted now. And poor B being sick at the party…hope he’s OK now!
