First Trip To The Beach In 2015

Last Sunday with the Christmas holidays almost at an end (booooo!), and after the constant requests from the boys, especially Jenson, about me taking them to the beach we set off for Instow after breakfast. Father Christmas gave the boy some sandcastle and sand play items and ever since Boxing Day they had been asking me daily if I could please take them to the beach so they could use them! I think when Father Christmas decided to give them those gifts, he was thinking ahead to the summer months lol!

Anyway, thankfully the weather last Sunday was ok in that it was dry and not too cold so we wrapped up and set off armed with a flask of hot Ribena for them, and one filled with tea for me, and a couple of biscuits, for Instow beach. It was quiet when we arrived, just a few people walking their dogs – although my two made enough noise to compensate for the peacefulness lol!

It was a lot of fun though – we explored the sand dunes, made sandcastles and sand cupcakes, found a large stick/piece of driftwood, wrote our names in the sand (Burton wrote Mummy!) and then they decided to slide and jump down the sand dunes!!!

And of course the proof of a great time at the beach? Wet trouser bottoms and bringing half the beach back in your wellies!!
